Comments & history
Rich-text comments with @-mentions, and a complete activity timeline.
Comments
Contacts and deals both have a Comments tab for team discussion. Comments support rich text — headings, lists, emphasis — and file attachments, which are also saved to the record's Files tab so nothing is buried in a thread.
Mentioning a teammate
Type @ and start typing a name to pick from your account's active members. Mentioned people are
notified in the app, by email, and in realtime, according to their own notification preferences.
The restricted-value guard
If your account restricts a field to a minimum role — deal value, say — a comment that appears to contain that field's value or label is rejected, naming the field, so restricted information cannot be shared sideways through a comment.
Activity history
Every contact and deal has a History tab showing a complete, ordered record of what happened.
What is recorded
- Field changes — the field, the old value and the new value.
- Appointments — created, updated, cancelled, deleted.
- Files — attached and removed.
- Email — sent and received, with the address and subject.
- Deals — created, updated and deleted, shown on the contact's timeline.
Who did it
Changes made in the app show the person. Changes made through the API show the name of the API key that made them, marked as API. Automated changes show as System.
What you will not see
Fields your role is not permitted to see are left out of the timeline entirely, so history cannot be used to read around a permission. Entries can be sorted oldest or newest first and are paginated.
